Core Definition:
A Core consists of the Head, or Heads, Block, & ALL Internal Components.
Internal Core Components:
Camshaft, Crankshaft, Pistons, Rods, Mains, Oilers, Lifters, Bearings, Oil Pickup Tube, Chain Tensioner, Timing Chain, Oil Pump Chain, Oil Pump, Gears & Sprockets, etc.
Core Charge:
All Engines have an applicable core charge that MUST be paid at the time of sale. The Core Charge is required to insure we not only receive the core back at our facility, but that the Core is FULLY REUSABLE. Our business depends on the return of these Cores & our prices reflect a REUSABLE core being received.
Core Charges are refunded when the core has been received, inspected, & deemed reusable.
Cores need to be shipped back to us within 90 days or less for a refund.
Core Charges can take up to 30 days from the time of the initial return for the charge refund to be processed. We have a continuous flow of cores that must be inspected before any refund can be given.
Cores will be checked in the order they are received.
Diesel Long Block Core Return / Charge and Process
Below is a detailed description of the core return criteria.
1 – Any long block core returned with a broken crankshaft, broken connecting rod, broken camshaft, or broken valve will be considered an unacceptable core and a core charge will be billed.
2 – Any long block core returned with a visible hole/crack in the block or cylinder head will be considered an unacceptable core and a core charge will be billed.
3 – Any long block core returned that is not assembled, missing parts, or a long block core that cannot rotate 360 degrees will be considered an unacceptable core and a core charge will be billed.
4 – A 50% to 100% core charge will be billed for any core that is returned but is considered unacceptable.
5 – A 100% core charge will be billed for any core that is not returned and your warranty will be void.
6 – Silver Star Engines has up to 30 days to complete the core inspection from time of return and process any applicable fees.
PRIOR TO SENDING BACK THE CORE PLEASE INSPECT THE CORE SO THE CONDITION IS KNOWN BEFORE THE RETURN, THIS WAY YOU CAN AVOID ANY UNFORSEEN CHARGES.
Any core engines returned after the specified thirty (30) days may be subject to a late core return fee of 20%.
NO REFUNDS WILL BE OFFERED FOR CORE RETURNS AFTER 90 DAYS FROM DELIVERY.
To return the long block core you must return the core just like the remanufactured long block you received. If the long block was shipped in our wood crate, strap the core back into the crate and screw the top back into place. Please make sure to attach the return shipping label to the core and the crate or pallet.
Crate Charge:
To ensure the most protective shipping for your engine, we build our own crates to FIT your engine. Our crates are very valuable to us due to the fact we reuse them and require them for the return shipping on core engines. WE DO NEED THE CRATE BACK IN THE ORIGINAL CONDITION. If for any reason, the crate is damaged when your core engine is received back at our office, there will be a $200 charge for any damages done to the crate. CRATES NEED TO RETURN FULLY REUSABLE. We do understand accidents do happen, so if there is any issue, you are required to call us and inform us of the situation so we can move forward with the shipping process, and discuss damage charges if applicable. Damages will be assessed and documented upon receipt of your core engine and crate. There will be no exceptions to this crate charge if Silver Star Engines is not notified in a timely manner.
We understand the need for a prompt refund & will process your core as soon as possible.

TRANSMISSION WARRANTY:
All used transmissions have a 90 day warranty. All new and remanufactured transmissions have a 3 year or 100,000 mile warranty. The warranty does not cover labor or other incidental charges. The unit must be returned to SilverstarEngines.com before it can be considered for warranty.
The warranty is void if the unit is in any way misused or abused.
All transmissions are guaranteed to fit and work if you order the exact replacement type.
Mileage quotes on used transmissions, either expressed or implied, are not guaranteed to be accurate. Therefore, we assume no liability for mileage.
This warranty is a parts exchange warranty. In the event we do not have the part in stock to replace the defective part, we reserve the right to either:
*Repair the defective part,
*Locate a replacement part, or
*Provide a refund for the original purchase price.
SilverstarEngines.com and its subsidiary companies shall deem this warranty void if part failure is caused by faulty installation, modification, negligence, racing, or competition use.
SilverstarEngines.com and its subsidiary companies will not reimburse the cost of any labor or any other expense incurred by the purchaser, including but not limited to, towing charges, loss of time, loss of use of vehicle, inconvenience, lodging, oil filters, anti-freeze, telephone or telegraph charges, car or truck rental, gaskets, or seals.
Please inspect part for proper fitment and condition before installing in vehicle! SilverstarEngines.com and its subsidiary companies are not responsible for incorrect fitment of part in your vehicle.
This warranty is not transferable.
Customer is responsible for shipping and handling of replacement part(s). No transmissions will be accepted if not returned intact. SilverstarEngines.com and its subsidiary companies must authorize all returns prior to shipping. This warranty does not apply to any transmission damage resulting from overheating due to lack of lubrication, or a non-functioning cooling system. Proper oil levels must be maintained at all times. Proper installation, calibration, good working order and inspection procedures including cleaning of cooler lines, motor mounts, transmission mounts, no bent pans or crimped cooler lines.
Electronic transmissions, there are mechanical and electrical parts, components and connections in your vehicle that are necessary for your transmission to perform, but they are NOT a part of your transmission, this may cause malfunction of or damage to your transmission upon failure. These parts include but are NOT limited to, the computers, solenoids, actuators, relays, wiring harness, temperature sensors, speed sensors, and connectors. No warranty is given for any parts outside of the transmission. It is out of our control and your responsibility to verify that the components perform according to the manufacturer specification, only this guarantees the 100% performance of your transmission.
The following pre-installation maintenance must be performed to validate this warranty if applicable:
*Properly align torque converter.
*Flush transmission cooling lines & transmission cooler (usually integrated with radiator) to get the metal shavings from the previous bad transmission, out of the system.
*Check transmission cooling lines for kinks or leaks to ensure the replacement transmission receives proper cooling lubrication.
*Adjust throttle position sensor cable (Shift Knockdown Cable) correctly.
*Replace torque converter seal, driveline, and/or axle seals, on used units.
*Install new transmission filter kit, used units.
*Must use factory approved fluids, all units.
*VIN and mileage must be recorded and sent to SilverstarEngines.com before installation.
*All transmissions must be installed, maintained, or adjusted by a qualified technician
*If this list of procedures is not followed, the warranty will be void, so please call us if you have any questions.
After installation, if the transmission does not work properly, please call us immediately so that we can help solve the problem before the transmission is ruined.
We are not responsible for different speedometer gears, linkage connections, cable connectors or shipping errors of the correct transmission for your vehicle.
SilverstarEngines.com or the selling subsidiary company must authorize all returns prior to shipping.
What is not Warranted:
*Transmission and torque converter which failed due to improper installation, low transmission fluid level, improper cooling, neglect, abuse, or accident of vehicle.
*Transmission hard parts including drums, shafts, planetary assembly or case if abuse is determined.
*Any electronics, including solenoids, sensors or other related electrical components.
*Upon placement of order, customer accepts all terms and conditions of this warranty. All sales are final.
*No benefits or remedies are available under this limited warranty while the invoice for the unit or related services remains outstanding.
Limited Liability:
The liability of SilverstarEngines.com and/or its subsidiary companies under this warranty is limited solely to the repair or replacement of defective parts or workmanship. Buyer and seller agree the seller’s price is based upon this limited warranty. Buyer and seller also agree the buyer’s sole and exclusive remedy against seller on account of breach of contract, warranty or performance shall be for the repair or replacement at SilverstarEngines.com and its subsidiary companies factory IN TEXAS, of defect, Transmission’s workmanship or material within the periods of this warranty. The buyer will be responsible for shipment and subject to the limitations and conditions of this warranty.
Limited Warranty:
This warranty is given in lieu of all other warranties expressed or implied, including any warranty on the part of the dealer installing the transmission, unless said warranty is less stringent than that offered by SilverstarEngines.com and its subsidiary companies. No dealer or any agent or employee thereof is authorized to extend or enlarge this warranty. All transmissions are sealed (signed) if seal is broken all warranties will be voided.
All return parts and canceled orders are subject to a 25% handling and restocking fee plus the customer assumes all shipping costs and is responsible for shipping the parts back in order to receive a refund.

ENGINE WARRANTY:
BASIC WARRANTY INFO
* **FAILURE TO PERFORM THESE OPERATIONS WILL VOID THE WARRANTY***
*This warranty applies to all Engines. This warranty shall not apply to or include the following:
- Repair or replacement required as a result of any accident or misuse
- Repair or replacement of any engine item, including specifically, without limitation, to all components of the cooling, fuel, electrical, engine control system, and all ignition system components, belts, hoses and filters.
- Any engine used for competition racing or related purposes.
- Any engine which has been repaired or remodeled to which any device or accessory not conforming to original manufacturer specifications has been installed.
- Warranty DOES NOT apply to any engine damaged as a result of overheating or lack of lubrication. The warranty will be void on any engine returned with the heat tabs missing or melted out. Heat tabs will melt at 260 degrees and above.
- Any warranty repairs must be authorized by Sprinterdepo.com in writing or it’s selling subsidiary company and will be handled on a case by case basis.
- If we elect to replace your engine with another engine, the replacement is considered to be a repair of the original unit. Your original date of installation and mileage at that time remain in effect.
*Engine oil and filter MUST be changed at the first 500 miles and every 5,000 miles thereafter AND 1 HOUR OF IDELING = 50 MILES, (service records must be kept) service must be performed by a qualified service company and no hand written receipts will be accepted. Oil changes must be performed by a shop not owned or affiliated with the purchaser .
* Oil and temperature light/gauge and speedometer MUST be in proper working order
* New thermostat, water pump and fan clutch with fan must be installed. NO MADE IN CHINA BRANDS. BEST IS MERCEDES BRAND.
* Engines that are not installed by Sprinterdepo.com and its subsidiary companies must have radiators and intercooler flow checked by a radiator repair shop. Radiators which do not meet original equipment manufacturer’s flow specifications, must be replaced. Keep receipt from radiator shop for cleaning or replacement.
*Fuel Filter Housing must be replaced.
*All Engines are signed, I.E. marked. If marks are removed, or seal is broken, no warranty.
*HEAT TABS ARE INSTALLED ON BLOCK AND HEADS.If heat tabs are melted ,then the engine has been over heated, voiding the warranty.
*Initial engine start must not be dry. Engine must be spun over without firing until oil has circulated and pressure has built up.
*New injectors must be installed before running engine. Check your engine with the proper scanner to insure all injectors are working properly after installation. Some so called “NEW” injectors are rebuilt, with a fail rate of over 20%. IF YOU HAVE AN ENGINE WARRANTY ISSUE WE REQUIRE INJECTORS TO BE TESTED. You can send us the injectors you installed IN the engine for testing to US, or send them to one of our approved independent INJECTOR TESTING COMPANIES .
*Harmonic balancer must be torqued properly . 240 ft. lbs. then 90 degrees… retorqued every 40K miles.
*Injectors must be changed or serviced every 50,000 miles.
*injector failure will void warranty.
*Turbo failure will void warranty.
*Purchaser must send proof of mileage and VIN when purchased, no exceptions.
*Turbo lines must be changed.
*Core charge will apply when core is not rebuild-able. No core return, no warranty.
* Cores must be returned within 90 days.
*Catalytic convertor and D. P. F. must be clean , and in proper working order.
*All codes must be cleared before running the engine.
* Gaskets and seals are warranted for 90 days only on reman engines.
*Warranties are pro-rated based upon mileage and time.
*Proper oil must be used.
*Break In Oil Should Be 15W/40 NON-SYNTHETIC, first 500 miles.*
*Use of improper oil or running low on oil will void warranty. Proper oil is 15-40 FULL SYNTHETIC of any of the following brands:
- Liquid Molly
- Top Tec Truck 4450
- Shell Rotella Diesel # 6
- AMSOIL Max Duty Diesel
- Royal Purple Diesel
**IF AMBIANT TEMPERATURE IS OVER 95° GO TO 20-50 OF THE SAME BRANDS**
SprinterDepo.com and its subsidiary companies do not assume and have no liability for labor costs or replacement of oil or anti-freeze, damage to other engine parts or components, towing charges, labor charges, telephone calls, freight, lost profits, lost time, substitute transportation or replacement vehicle or any other consequential damages.
SprinterDepo.com and its subsidiary companies have no responsibility for any failure resulting from improper installation, modification of the product, faulty or incompatible parts and accessories and/or abnormal use of operation.
